Mike Huckabee: Jay Z is crossing the line of husband to pimp.

Mike Huckabee Jay Z

Mike Huckabee, who recently left his Fox News show, has some harsh words about Jay Z and Beyonce and the couple’s explicit lyrics and dance moves.
Huckabee’s new book, God, Guns, Grits and Gravy, calls recent music put out by artists like Beyonce and Jay Z “trash,” though even he has to admit that there is talent there.
“Beyonce is incredibly talented – gifted, in fact. She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. She is a terrific dancer – without the explicit moves best left for the privacy of her bedroom.”
However, that’s where the praise stops and the moral questioning begins. “Jay Z is a very shrewd businessman,” Huckabee says, “but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?”
For example, Huckabee takes Beyonce and Jay Z’s 2014 Grammy performance of “Drunk in Love” and called it a “song” (complete with air quotes).
“Beyonce must have been confused,” he writes, “when she agreed to humiliate herself by performing in a way that prompted this comment from author Charlotte Hays (whose book ‘When Did White Trash Become the New Normal?’ says it all): ‘Honestly, I didn’t want to watch Jay Z and Beyonce’s foreplay.'”
Huckabee takes Beyonce to task, chiding her for misusing her status as a cultural icon. “She must know that millions of young girls look up to her as a role model to emulate. And she even has a daughter herself now. So why has she done this?”
But Huckabee didn’t stop there with his indictments. He went on to criticize the Obamas, noting that both Malia and Sasha have, according to the president, “gotten to know Beyonce” and that the power couple had been to many White House occasions. “With the first lady so concerned about making sure her daughters’ bellies don’t ingest unhealthy food, how can she let their brains ingest obnoxious and toxic mental poison in the form of song lyrics?” he asks. “If lived out, those lyrics would be far more devastating to someone’s health than a cupcake.”

Ohio bridal shop visited by nurse who contracted Ebola to close in May.

Amber Vinson is Ebola free and, like other survivors, has attempted to return to a ‘normal’ life.
The Ohio bridal shop Vinson visited before it was determined she had the virus, however, cannot say the same thing. Coming Attractions Bridal and Formal will close its doors, according to a report from WEWS-TV in Akron.
The store’s owner Anna Younker said the shop was unable to overcome the stigma left by Vinson’s visit. She will close down for good in May.
More details from WEWS’ Bob Jones:
During an interview at the store, Younker indicated she has lost more than $100,000 since Amber Vinson, a Dallas nurse, tested positive for the Ebola virus a few days after she visited the store to plan for her upcoming wedding.
To make matters worse, Younker says Vinson asked her for a refund for her and her bridesmaids. The request didn’t sit well with Younker.
“I wish that now she knew better not to travel,” she told Jones in the WEWS report. “The impact its had on me is huge. Never in a million years did I expect something like this to cause our business to have to close.”
Vinson was determined to have Ebola a few days after returning from visiting the bridal shop. She was part of the team of doctors and nurses who helped treat the U.S. first Ebola case Thomas Duncan.

How would Claire Huxtable react to Phylicia Rashad’s defense of Cosby?

Phylicia Rashad as Claire Huxtable (Cosby Show)

In a television interview, Phylicia Rashad clarified what she said was a misquote by Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman. The Tony Award-winning actress said she never said “forget these women” in reference to Bill Cosby’s rape accusers.
“What I said is that this is not about the women; this is about the obliteration of legacy,” she said to ABC News correspondent Linsey Davis.
What seemed lost on Rashad was that her statement of correction was just as callous as the misquote. Over 20 women have stepped forward to offer detailed accounts of sexual assault at the hands of Bill Cosby, and Rashad thinks that this entire scandal is about the legacy of a television sitcom. Granted, there is not an American over the age of 25 who has not been impacted by The Cosby Show. It is the finest example of what a successful family looks like.
One thing is for sure: if Claire Huxtable had been in the room when Rashad spoke those words, she would have certainly checked her.
Claire Huxtable, the feisty matriarch of the Cosby family, not only led a successful law practice, she also balanced a household with 5 children, a silly but lovable husband and a revolving door of friends and relatives as her family grew. Claire was the type of woman who would never hesitate to use her quick wit to correct any antiquated patriarchal ideals expressed by a male in her presence.

Phylicia Rashad I never said forget those women.

 Phylicia Rashad (ABC News)

Just one day after Phylicia Rashad broke her silence by coming to the defense of Bill Cosby in a red carpet interview with Roger Friedman of Showbiz411, the Tony Award-winning actress sat down with ABC News correspondent Linsey Davis.
The Cosby Show actress continued to mount praise on her former TV husband. “He’s a genius, he is generous, he’s kind, he’s inclusive,” she said in the segment airing on “World News Tonight with David Muir.”
“You were quoted online as saying forget those women,” Davis said to Rashad.
