Former Philadelphia Police Officer Ray Lewis Explains Why He's Standing With Protesters In Ferguson.

A former Philadelphia police officer says that he’s standing with protesters in Ferguson, Missouri to send a message that police are oppressing the majority of Americans.
“Number one, I want to give the residents of Ferguson the knowledge that there are some police that do support them,” Ray Lewis, a former Philadelphia Police captain told Al Jazeera. “I want to try and get a message to mainstream America that that this system is corrupt, that police really are oppressing not only the black community, but also the whites,” he said.
“It’s an oppressive organization now controlled by the one percent of corporate America. Corporate America is using police forces as their mercenaries.”

Gutfeld: Ferguson Is Dead, and You Can't Blame Cops.

"As I heard protesters bragging about the attention, taunting the police, deciding which building to burn, I realized that this wasn’t about injustice," Gutfeld said. "It was a conduit for destruction, a time to break things that aren't yours and take things that aren't yours."
He explained that racial conflict became an excuse for a free-for-all of looting and vandalism and fun.
"But if one burns businesses to the ground in your community, what does that say about your investment in that community?" he asked. "No person who loves Ferguson would burn Ferguson."

TMZ’s Marion Barry headline shows bias.

TMZ's headline for Marion Barry's death next to the headline for Heath Ledger's death
Sometimes, the best policing of mainstream media comes from social media. TMZ’s headline for Marion Barry’s death, reading “MARION BARRY CRACK MAYOR DEAD AT 78,” has created a stir.  Some have juxtaposed the image of this headline with the gossip’s site more deferential headline for actor Heath Ledger, who died from a drug overdose. The Ledger headline simply reads: “Heath Ledger Is Dead.”
Barry, unlike Ledger, did not die from an overdose but instead was plagued by prostate cancer and diabetes in his late age. The 78-year-old four-term mayor and three-term councilman also received a liver transplant in 2009, which may have been a factor in his death.

President Obama reacts to grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson.

VA Scandal Obama

WASHINGTON DC — President Obama made a statement almost immediately following the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney announcing that the grand jury had decided not to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown.
President Obama, speaking from the White House briefing room, made a plea for peace from both sides: the protestors and the police.
“We are a nation of laws, so we need to accept that the decision was the grand jury’s to make. There are Americans who agree with it and there are Americans who are deeply disappointed … who are angry.”
The president continued by saying he joined Michael Brown’s parents in asking that anyone who protests the decision do so peacefully. “Michael Brown’s parents lost more than anyone. We should honor their wishes,” the president said.
The president also made an appeal to the law enforcement in Ferguson to work with the community “to distinguish the handful of people who will use the grand jury’s decision as an excuse for violence from the vast majority who just want their voices heard about legitimate issues on how their community and law enforcement interact.”
The president tied Ferguson with the broader problem with law enforcement with communities of color. “This is not just an issue for Ferguson; this is an issue for America,” Obama said.
The president said that he’s instructed Attorney General Eric Holder to work with cities across America to build better relationships between communities and law enforcement.

Halle Berry reportedly sues ex for straightening their daughter’s hair.

Halle Berry is seeking a restraining order against Gabriel Aubry

Halle Berry has reportedly taken her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry to court over changing their daughter Nahla’s hair.
The 48-year-old actress claims in court documents that dying the 6-year-old’s hair blonde might make their daughter ask “why her natural appearance is not good enough.” Aubry and Berry have been in a custody dispute over Nahla since breaking up in 2010.
Berry also alleged that, in addition to the blonde highlights, Aubry straightened Nahla’s hair.
